Oral Surgeon Dr. Hunter J. Martin, DDS, MD was born and raised in Lakeland, Florida. 

She graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and Cell Science from the University of Florida in 2006, followed by one year of Immunology research at Shands Cancer Hospital.

Dr. Martin earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from NYU College of Dentistry. She then completed her Medical Degree at NYU School of Medicine and continued at NYU Langone Health & Bellevue Hospital Center where she completed her General Surgery internship and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training.

Dr. Martin is a board certified oral surgeon that practices full scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery including:

  • orthodontic exposures
  • pre-prosthetic
  • sleep apnea
  • and TMJ surgeries. 

She has a special area of interest in jaw reconstruction including orthognathic surgery and complex maxillofacial trauma and is well versed in the use of computer-guided surgical planning. She trained extensively in adult and pediatric anesthesia, including children with special needs and developmental disorders.

Dr. Martin has hospital privileges at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan and Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, New York.

She maintains active licenses in:

  • and Florida.

Additionally, she holds active certification in:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support

Dr. Martin currently resides in Manhattan. She volunteers annually on the medical staff for the New York Special Olympics.

Personal interests include hiking, tennis, traveling, and watching college football and hockey. She is an avid runner and completed the NYC Marathon in 2010.
